Southeast Europe Expert Meeting - National reports on progress
05 December 2011

Budva, November 2011. The expert meeting was organised by dvv international and the VET Centre of Montenegro and took place from 22-24 november in Budva.

This was the opportunity to exchange experiences and informations on the current state of adult education in the region in terms of implementation of the Belém framework for action guidelines, within the CONFINTEA VI follow up process in Southeast Europe. The main objective, however, was to meet the National report template (UNESCO) on progress in preparation of the Global Report on Adult Learning and Education (GRALE) and the end of the United Nations Literacy Decade (UNLD). Once again it was emphasised that CONFINTEA is a process and not en event and the template is the ideal instrument for gathering stakeholders and lobbying on national level. The report provides space for examples of good practices, documents and other relevant materials which will be the starting point for comparison and trend monitoring for the following years. The meeting was attended by representatives of the UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning, dvv international National Offices and Head Office for SEE, ministries, adult education centers, VET centers and other institutiones from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Germany, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia and Slovenia. In addition to above mentioned, the participants discussed some of the obstacles which the countries in the region may face during the report preparation and they agreed on next steps of the process.
